The future on display?

Went with a few friends to Dosey Doe's in The Woodlands Sunday night and saw a teenage guitar phenom named Clay Melton. Most everyone probably has not heard of him, but with some luck he may be the next Stevie Ray Vaughn, and I don't say that lightly.

I love the musical style that Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray unfortunately took to their grave, and there has been noone that I know of who could get anywhere near their shoes. But this young man was increadible.

When he announced during the concert that the next song would be a cover of Hendrix' "Hey Joe" I groaned and said to myself that noone should cover that song. But he tore it apart, in a good way.

If you like blues/rock guitar, check out the Clay Melton Band. You'll thank me later. Talents like this need the support of the guitar enthusiasts and music lovers out there. The music industry is nearly impossible to break into, but this guy is the real deal and deserves a shot.

Oh, and BTW, visit Dosey Does while you're at it. The place is a hidden gem.

Burnt Orange Pride

I know it's a cliche to call a hard fought loss a moral victory, but I'm about to cliche-it up.

My Longhorns played as well as I've seen them play in the last two months and I am proud to say that I bleed burnt orange. Duke is obviously a very good team, and Texas was in a position to beat them in what was basically a home game. I'll definitely be holding my head up high when I talk about the game tomorrow.

Hey Ag fans...can you say the same thing?

So I've decided to give in a start a blog for those folks who care to see what going on around the Monney house or listen to me rant from time to time. Hope y'all enjoy.
